A Glimpse into the Past and Present

When Prince Armory began almost two decades ago, resources were limited. Early photoshoots featured makeshift setups, like using corners of rooms and budget-friendly eBay lighting. Fast forward to today, and we’ve built a home studio filled with professional-grade equipment that elevates our production quality.

Gear Highlights

We’re now equipped with innovative tools that bring out the best in our armor designs:

Lighting Upgrades:

8-foot 60XLR tubes and 4-foot 30XLR tubes offer versatile, even lighting. Foldable panels with white and black sides enhance light diffusion and control.

  • Quick Release Plates: Swapping setups is seamless with plates from brands like Lansing and Sea Stars.
  • Camera Gear: The Sony A7R5 delivers stunning photos, while FX30s handle tutorial recording with precision.

Studio Workflow Enhancements

These upgrades are a game-changer, especially for large-scale armor photography. The new lights save space, thanks to built-in batteries, and simplify transitions between shots. Experimenting with these tools allows us to refine our process for future projects.

Future Opportunities

For the first time, a client has permitted us to model their custom armor before delivery. This paves the way for a larger photoshoot featuring multiple suits early next year. If you’re a model or photographer near Conroe, Texas, we’d love to hear from you. Just contact us here.
