Product Description
Spaulders are worn on the shoulder and the pattern is symmetrical and perfect for making two to cover both shoulders so this pattern is a great bang for the buck that will bring a lot of impact to your next costume for cosplay or armor for LARP. The design is easily customized and can easily be adapted for foam and other mediums! Two versions with two styles each are available. Use the original version for a standalone design, or use the alternate version for integration with the breastplate.
Relatively comfortable, they follow arm movement well (except upwards, understandable given the shape). Pleasant to work with. A badass look guaranteed ;)
(pictures were taken after 1 full season of LARP )
I do recommend making a mockup first to check sizing, as 100% worked fine for me, though we had to bump it up to maybe 120% for a friend with larger shoulders, (and even at 100%, can make for a fun helm, as seen in the first pic).
Made these in a 5/6oz veg-tan, and as this was my first real leatherworking project and I wanted to throw myself into the deep end of detailing, these took around 40 hours, though I suspect a simpler version without all the tooling would take a fraction of that.
I did those in miniature and it was really fun !
No sizing required to fit myself, and easily adapted to wear two at the same time.
Can't wait to finish the suit. Already working on my next piece!
