I used this pattern to give me a base for a greaves project with a bit of a different design. It helped me a lot to get the basic shape and size right so I could add custom detail. So yes, the picture i uploaded is certainly not a 1:1 fantasy greaves version but I think you can still see a lot of similiarities. So even if you are not really into the the explicit design of the greaves there is still a lot of valueable information you can extract from the pattern which saved me quite some time and nerves. As a pattern newbie I still tried to create one from scratch at first and was close to quitting when I started to use this pattern for reference I finally started to see some progress. I created a paper mockup from this pattern and started drawing wild shapes onto it eventually resulting in the greaves on the picture.

The tooling was much easier than I thought it would be and really gives the piece a great look. Everyone that comes to my house notices the helmet and must try it on. I watched all the tutorials many times before diving into this. For a first timer in leathercrafting, I was really surprised by how easy it was to follow the video and making my armor. My boyfriend's loving it and he's already asking for more parts to go with it.

These are awesome pauldrons! I cut some round notches into the points, and added a wider section of leather under the arm to change it up a little, and to help fill in the bare space under my arms. I used Prince Armory patterns for the helmet, pauldrons, gorget, and sabotons in this suit.

This one was fun, adding it to my Chaos Champion armor. Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the Skull throne!

Takes a very long time to make but worth the effort. With the dye and gloss it creates a lovely emerald sheen that gives a beautiful finish to the leather. However the tutorial does mention to scale the pattern up, this is an easy part to miss the smaller scales don't look as good.

A great pattern for beginners, easy to follow and shape. I did find that the face plate was too long and scraped my chest when I wore it. To compensate I trimmed a bit off and cut out the sides to hear better. Worth it for any serious larper
