I used this pattern to give me a base for a greaves project with a bit of a different design. It helped me a lot to get the basic shape and size right so I could add custom detail. So yes, the picture i uploaded is certainly not a 1:1 fantasy greaves version but I think you can still see a lot of similiarities. So even if you are not really into the the explicit design of the greaves there is still a lot of valueable information you can extract from the pattern which saved me quite some time and nerves. As a pattern newbie I still tried to create one from scratch at first and was close to quitting when I started to use this pattern for reference I finally started to see some progress. I created a paper mockup from this pattern and started drawing wild shapes onto it eventually resulting in the greaves on the picture.

The tooling was much easier than I thought it would be and really gives the piece a great look. Everyone that comes to my house notices the helmet and must try it on. These are awesome pauldrons! I cut some round notches into the points, and added a wider section of leather under the arm to change it up a little, and to help fill in the bare space under my arms. I used Prince Armory patterns for the helmet, pauldrons, gorget, and sabotons in this suit.
