IMPERIAL KNIGHT BUNDLE

An Introduction To Leather And Armor Craft

This INTERMEDIATE series will build upon the Fantasy Armor series and will also show additional techniques for using a laser cutter in your projects.

When you are ready to expand upon your knowledge from there or want more options for your armor projects, consider trying out the Imperial Knight series which will add an all new style and demonstrate even more details and tooling options. This series is also built as an introduction to laser cutting leather armor and most parts will fit in common desktop sized laser cutting units such as Glowforge.

At the end of the program, you will have an epic fitted suit all of your own made with your own two hands, but more importantly, you’ll have the skills to move forward with even more elaborate and exciting projects in the future.

First big leather project, and first time using a pattern. So far I've just done the breastplate. My only regret is getting too casual about cutting off FAR too much of the overlapping material where it buckles at the sides (Should have tested that on the foam mockup first). Was easy to follow along with the video. Looking forward to making more pieces!

This has been a demanding, yet very inspiring and satisfying project. After I finished the helmet, I wanted the entire suit of armor, so I got the templates and started on the torso right away.

As a pure novice this was a challenge. The first attempt used rivets, but as no size is listed, I got ones too large, and they snagged my hair. So I stitched the next one. I've since learned I have stitched it wrong, but I can probably take it apart and fix it. Still looks nice.

Pattern was great! The video to follow along was super helpful. I love the way it turned out. The only issue I encountered was the mismatched holes on the back plate but it was easily remedied by using the side pieces as guides. Definitely want to make more of these patterns!

This was my first foray into leather working, cosplay, sewing etc, and between the patterns and the youtube videos, I'd say it was quite the success thanks to Prince Armory! I used this pattern and modified it to get the body armor just right. Had to design my own shoulder pauldrons, but still used the base pattern to help me understand basic mechanics on the shoulders, modded the body to fit myself (one must sit after all), and overall, very happy with it! My only issue, not with Prince was having to order leather online, and what I learned after finally driving several hours to a Tandy Leather a few months ago, is, it's worth the drive if you are new to leather and don't know what you are handling! What I was sold online as 8-9 oz was in reality more like 10-12, but was still able to create bc of this awesome pattern!

I’ve always wanted to make my own set of armor. The Warrior Set fit the bill for what I wanted. So far I’ve made the breastplate and pauldrons. The patterns and videos have made this an easy project. I’m looking forward to finishing this project and moving on to a more complex project.

I had a different experience with this pattern as I made adjustments to it and combined other patterns. My only wish is that the Prince would include the specific stamps he uses JUST IN CASE you want to do what he did. I understand not wanting people to just copy him and to explore their own options, but when you're just starting out like I am, I didn't know where to even get some of the crazy and cool stamps he uses. I had to hunt stuff down. Anyways, this is my first real leather project, and I'm excited to do more.
